Daily Writing #1: Never start more than one side hustle

The word side hustle is all the rage right now.

All of us at some point in time want to start not one but multiple side hustles in our lives. Is that achievable? Yes. Should we do it? In my opinion, No.

The wrong mindset about side hustle

Because most of us start side hustles with the wrong mindset. We think we don’t have to work as hard on our side hustles as we do on our jobs. But I would like to disagree here.

I think If we start a side hustle with that frame of mind we are doomed to fail because we would never pay it the attention that it deserves. Everything worthwhile in life requires hard work. Anything in life that requires hard work will need our time. And we have a limited amount of that only. If we divide that time into too many projects we would not be able to make any significant progress on any of them.

Limited energy and time

Our resource of energy is limited too. We can’t focus on 4-5 projects simultaneously if each of those projects requires some heavy lifting. And believe me if you want to make your side hustle you would need an ample amount of time to research it and then implement strategies to make it work. It’s not 1990 anymore and there is enough competition in every area of life. You can’t expect to just take it easy because it’s your side hustle.

The best way in my opinion is to focus on just one side hustle at a time. Spend building it into something that starts generating profit which will need your full focus and energy. Only then move onto another side hustle.

I am aiming to write daily here on my blog. There is no limit to the word count. I am not focusing on any topic here. I want to build a daily writing habit. This is Day 1 of the Daily Writing Challenge in 2022.
