Homo-sapiens.
Do you know the meaning of that word?
I just looked it up. It means “wise human“.
Are we?
I don’t know. The way we act sometimes certainly proves otherwise.
We suffer from the most illogical fears. Fears that we conjure up for ourselves and then spend eternity running from them.
One of the most paralyzing fears that only humans suffer from is the fear of “time running out”.
No other creature on this planet even knows about this fear except humans.
It’s strange once you think about this fact.
The construct of time is manufactured by humans. No other species needs it. The irony is that we are afraid of our own creation.
Why we need time?
I think as our daily activities increased we needed to come up with a certain mechanism to keep track of them. But this requires research and a bit of deep thought.
Although it would be captivating to know the origins of the concept of time. The first human who would have thought of the need for this concept. What chain of thought must have gone through his mind before he made this discovery?
That would be a fascinating read indeed.
A life without time
Can we live without time?
What would it look like?
How would we keep track of our activities, tasks, and goals that we need to achieve?
How do other species live without time?
Lots of interesting questions.
Maybe humans would use sunrise and sunset as their time trackers. We would keep track of the movement of the sun and the stars like our ancestors did.
History of time would be an interesting topic to study for sure and I will be reading about this and sharing my thoughts in upcoming articles.

You have a schedule, a calendar, a time for dinner or a movie. Yet all around you, timekeeping is ignored. Birds are not late. A dog does not check its watch. Deer do not fret over passing birthdays. Man alone measures time. Man alone chimes the hour. And, because of this, man alone suffers a paralyzing fear that no other creature endures. A fear of time running out.”
