Let’s face it, we all are burdened by something or the other throughout our lifetime.
There’s no escaping it. No single person on this earth can say that they haven’t experienced bouts of depression, sadness, and loneliness ever in their lives.
What makes the difference is how you deal with it?
It’s hard, I know. The easy way that we all choose is, to give in to the misery. As we relent the control over to external forces we feel more lethargic and unable to move.
There are many ways you can deal with it but recently I came across a unique way of looking at it. I didn’t know it before.
It was truly an aha! moment for me. Sometimes solutions are so simple that we feel foolish how could we not see it the whole time.
Here’s that mind-blowing perspective shift below, I read this in a James Clear newsletter.
Your mind is a suggestion engine. Every thought you have is a suggestion, not an order.
Sometimes your mind suggests that you are tired, that you should give up, or that you should take an easier path.
But if you pause, you can discover new suggestions. For example, that you will feel good once the work is done or that you have the ability to finish things even when you don’t feel like it.
Your thoughts are not orders. Merely suggestions. You have the power to choose which option to follow.

Did you experience the awesomeness of this idea?
The biggest revelation for me was that “Our brain is a suggestion engine“.
The keyword is Suggestion, not order.
This will set you free, If you think and apply it in your life.
If all our brain tells is a suggestion then we can ignore it or better yet, we can suggest something else.
How can this transform your life?
Our brain is a wonderful piece of machinery but it often works against us.
Try giving a speech on stage for the first time. Most of us will freeze.
Think about all the negative stuff that we keep repeating to ourselves all day long. We think we are useless. No one cares about us. We deserve to be unhappy, etc. All these negative emotions are generated by our brain.
If we just view them as suggestions though then we don’t have to believe them. We can just ignore them as google autocomplete. We can type in our own words in the search box and see what we want to see, believe what we want to believe.
This gives you the power to choose. Take back that power for yourself. Become the captain of your own ship. Start giving orders to your brain.
Steer your life where you want to go uninfluenced by all the negative suggestions of your brain.
Order your brain to be positive.
For example, If you are feeling sad right now, say to your brain I am happy. Say it 50-60 times and you will start to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Give positive orders and negative suggestions will be destroyed.
I write daily here on my blog. There is no limit to the word count. I am not focusing on any topic here. I want to build a daily writing habit. This is Day 34 of the Daily Writing Challenge in 2022.
